Madhubani Sun God - Godna Style

Hi !!

Made this Madhubani Sun God on A3 sized black cartridge sheet.

This is inspired from Godna / Tattoo style of painting wherein there are borders on the either side with circles in the middle. These drawings are primarily inspired of nature like animals, flowers etc.

I have tried this for the first time and have tried to create something innovative. The painting is made with white gel pen and have used metallic colours.

Hope you will like it .

See you next time with another of my creations.... till then enjoy and have a creative week:)

Radha - Krishna once again......:)

Hi !!!!

Its April and the summer heat is already so unbearable. Its touching almost 40 deg here in Delhi and with each passing day its going to get worse. Just hope that we get early monsoon this year :)

This past month has been very busy for me. My younger son was having his holidays & I was slogging in the kitchen preparing his favourite dishes. My maid also decided to go on leave so it was kind of taxing for me to do cleaning, cooking, washing & what not.

Fortunately his school re-opened this Monday & I was able to complete my Madhubani painting of Radha-Krishna.

The painting is on handmade paper size 30" x 22" using acrylics colours & marker pens. The painting depicts Radha - Krishna in the centre surrounded by Gopis. I enjoyed making it......... Time to move on to short & simple projects.

Do drop in with your views on the above.

Have a creative week !!!:)

My Mandala Drawing

Hi !!!

Hope all of you had a colourful and fun filled Holi.. :)

I am back with my mandala drawing. I usually love to draw freehand mandala,  but this time around I have tried to draw a proper mandala with scale and compass.

This mandala is on A3 sized cartridge sheet. I have incorporated saura tribal figures for the mandalam and have used water colours. Saura painting looks quite similar to Warli painting,  but the former art form is associated with Saura tribe of Odisha..

I also tried few knife painting tricks.... which didn't turn out so well. Will have to practise more to get  more neat look.

I have few crochet WIPs also. Hopefully will get time to complete them soon  & share with you too:)

Till next time happy crafting !!!:)

Bottle Painting

Hi !!!!

Bottle painting has become one of my favourite craft. Its creatively very satisfying to turn a simple plain bottle into a beautiful show piece.

This time I have tried Mithila art to decorate this wine bottle.

I have used metallic colours & 0 size brush to paint radha-krishna. Base colour is black enamel paint.

Drop in with your comments on the same.

Happy crafting !!!

Crochet Doily

Hello friends !!!

Hope you are all doing good :)

Short and easy doily patterns are my favourite. So after finishing off my table cover project which I shared in my last blog post I am back to crocheting doilies.

I got this pattern from pinterest & the finished doily measures approx. 17" across. I have made few changes though on the edges as I was having difficulty in understanding the design in this section. To make this I have used Red Heart Mercerised Cotton & hook sized 1.75mm.

Would also like to share my art work which I have trying to practise on a regular basis.....

This is still life using water colour pencils & dry pastels

In this one tried to replicate actual leaf with coloured pencils. On the right hand side is the actual piece & the left side is the sketched one...

Do let me know how you like my work ...

Hopefully will see you next week with another crafty project. Till then have a wonderful time !!!:)

My sketchbook - 2018

Hi !!!!

These are the drawings that I have made in the past few weeks.

This is a freehand mandala on A3 size cartridge sheet. I have used marker pens, water colour pencils for the mandala & have painted flowers using water colours.

I found this beautiful landscape on youtube channel & wanted to give it a try. .. This is how it has come out. If I compare it with the original it has quite many flaws , but still I am happy with the end result.

Do have a look & let me know your views on the above.

See you next time with another creative arty project :)

Have a lovely weekend !!!:)
